Frequently Asked Questions
What is an “Encounter”?
Encounters are the name we give to our in-person gatherings on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month. Some churches would simply call this a “Sunday Service” but we believe that coming together to worship and be in the presence of God is something to be experienced, something to be “encountered.“
What time should I arrive?
Our Sunday “Encounters” start promptly at 10am. We recommend arriving 10-15 minutes before that to find a seat and grab a complimentary cup of coffee.
How long does an “Encounter” last?
We never put a time limit on the Holy Spirit, but generally speaking, our 10am gatherings on Sundays usually last around 90 minutes. Sometimes they are shorter, sometimes they run a little longer. If you need to leave before everything officially ends, we understand.
What do you believe?

What is your church’s worship style?
If you mean our music and singing, that leans more contemporary than traditional. If you mean how do we express worship to our Heavenly Father, we don’t try to put worship in a box. We allow you to worship in whatever manner you are moved to do so.
What is the preaching like?
That depends on who is on stage. We have a team of teachers and preachers that rotate presenting the message. Some messages are expository, some are thematic or topical, and some are testimonial in nature. You can actually watch some of our past messages on our YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/@unifychurch17
What is the dress code?
We don’t have an official dress code, but generally speaking we are fairly casual. More than anything, we want you to be comfortable and able to engage in the worship experience.
Why do you meet in a coffeehouse?
Extended Cup Coffeehouse is one of our ministry arms. A portion of the profits generated every month is used to assist other charities, ministries, or missionary efforts both locally and around the world. So the coffeehouse supports the church and the church supports the coffeehouse.
Is your facility handicap accessible?
Yes, we have designated handicap parking at the front of the building. Our building is ground level with no need for stairs or ramps of any sort.
Which denomination are you?
We are not affiliated with any church denomination. We feel that “denominations” are simply another way to divide people against each other and assign labels to one another. We are a Christ-centered community made up of people from all walks of life — regardless of age, race, gender, or social / economic backgrounds. We are united by faith, not by labels. We are passionate about creating a space where everyone can encounter God, grow in their purpose, and build authentic relationships, free from the limitations of religious tradition. Our focus is simple: to follow Jesus, love people well, and live out the Gospel in real, everyday ways.
