Following Jesus: Trusting Jesus

Trusting Jesus sounds simple until life becomes uncertain. In Matthew 6:25–34, Jesus speaks directly to the worry we carry about everyday life, our needs, and an unknown future. Worry can consume enormous amounts of energy, but it cannot give us control over what comes next.
Trust is not pretending that difficult circumstances do not exist, and it is not passive resignation. Trusting Jesus means refusing to carry tomorrow before it arrives and choosing instead to take the next faithful step today. Whether our concerns involve family, finances, career decisions, or an uncertain future, Jesus calls us away from being consumed by worry and toward living faithfully in the present.
Tomorrow is still going to be tomorrow. We cannot control everything that may happen, and worrying about it today will not give us that control. Jesus invites us to trust Him enough to live faithfully in the day we have been given, address what is in front of us, and take the next faithful step without carrying tomorrow today.
